My favorite outfit of my mommy's....

Look how cute my little mama is in her J.Crew dress and my favorite necklace! This was her outfit for a wedding we went to in Sacramento last weekend.

I liked my outfit that day too. My dress is Merona brand from Target, but I got it for $6 from Goodwill :) I am really starting to love classic tailored dresses like that... must keep eye out for more....

Final collage project

This project was about anyone you had a relationship with, and to create something that has to do with that person. I picked my boyfriend, Zack, who really loves astronomy, cameras and longboarding. I didn't have any vision or idea of what I was going to do for this project prior to starting it. It all just came together as I went. That big half sphere symbolizing the night sky is made from paper mache. My favorite part of this is the mini telescope I built from cardboard and the photo collage of Zack in his WWII uniform. I had many prints of this photo in different shades, so I just cut and pasted different parts of the photo on top of another photo.

Box Project

For this project, our guidelines were only that it had to be in some sort of box. I used my new old suitcase and I think that's the best part of this piece. I found all those photos at Goodwill-- literally handfuls of them, and I wanted to do something special with this girl's lost memories. Another reason why I love photographs-- they keep our memories alive.

Sind sie sicher?... Text project

The back of the piece.

I am in love with this old photograph, so perfect in so many ways.

The 3Dness of my project.
One of my favorite projects of the semester in my collage class. The only requirement was to involve text in some way, so I collaged the back of the box with pages from an old dictionary and a map. The images are from postcards that I found at the Salvation Army-- such a good find! I wrote "Sind sie sicher" in red nail polish. I chose this German phrase because it has a dual meaning-- Are you sure? and Are you safe?
and I love the duality of both of those.

Road trip to Hollywood, San Diego and Coronado part two

And here is San Diego and Coronado!
Fresh squeezed orange juice made from the oranges in the backyard... the nectar of the gods.

My papa's avocado trees

The birch aquarium in La Jolla... It was my favorite!! I loved looking at all the amazing sea life, really such fantastic creatures.

These were my favorite. Gorgeous jellyfish.

My Nani (grandma) above and to the right when she was eleven. She was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, and I am honored to say that I look like her.
