Homemade Sushi night!

Okay so here's another post not about Portland (don't worry those will be coming soon...) For my sister's 27th birthday (read about her Roman adventures here) my brother and Zack made homemade sushi and if you have never made some sushi yourself I highly recommend it because it is freaking delicious! And cheaper :)

This is my best friend Lauren Parker, LPizza for those in the rapping industry. She graciously modeled for me one afternoon in her backyard in our classic suburb hometown. These captured a non important, mundane summer afternoon that we had countless times. I take photographs to remember days just like these. Lounging around at my friend's parent's house in my twenties.

For my photo class last semester our final project was to make a photo album or book based on any theme you want. I chose to go for a 1930s-50s photo album look. One of my bestest friends, Lauren Snelgrove, was gracious enough to be my main model for the book; in essence this was "her" photo album from her life. Special thanks to Sarah Montgomery for being a beautiful model as well as Zack Dougherty and Julia Garcia!

Food/ Essen

So this post is all about my favorite thing in the world: Food. I've eaten a lot of good food the past few months, and here are pictures of what I ate, just to make you all jealous. Hahaha, no really I just want to show off the amazing people that surround me who are such great cooks!

An amazing birthday dinner for my mama. The tomatoes, cucumbers , and bell peppers are from my mom's good friend's garden. Needless to say, they were the most delicious vegetables I have ever eaten. The BBQed sweet potatoes and garlic bread wasn't too bad either.

Sister is all about eating healthy, so she tried out some Vegan stuffed shells. They're made from tofu and spinach with a vegan vegetable red sauce. SO GOOD. Top it off with some watermelon on the side... yums!
