Road trip to Hollywood, San Diego and Coronado part one

Zack and I enjoyed a lovely week down in southern California, I am not one for many words, so I'll let the photos do most the talking--- er... writing? We stayed with friends and family in each city and they were all so hospitable and kind. I am so glad to know these amazing people!

RIP bugs

Good day Mr. Chaplin

Da da dandy!

Spring Break is finally here!!!! I will be driving to sunny San Diego for the week and I cannot wait to get into that ocean! There is something so calming and refreshing about the waves and sand and warmth of the sun at the beach... I am happy. Above are some lovely dandylions found in my front yard as well as my new vintage (ha ha) suticase I recently purchased. I've been wanting one for a while so I was pretty stoked when I found the perfect one (and perfect color!) at The Antique Trove. Happy Happy days to all!

Swing to Heaven

This collage project was to create a landscape using only fabric. I used one of my favorite pictures from Germany of Zack and I sitting on a swing with our feet up and the beautiful black forest in the background. You can see the picture in my Deutschland page.
Close up of the fabrics and textures.

Little Amsterdam

For this project in my collage class, we had to create a story board of a dream we had or basically anything... I am obsessed with the little houses in Amsterdam, so I decided to recreate a little Amsterdam.

The bike is my favorite :)
All this was made out of matte board, paint, and a bit of cardboard.

A sunny afternoon spent with Shannee

Since spring is all around, my friend Shannee and I had to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the beautiful outdoors that nature provides for us. We stopped at a gas station on the way to this open field of beauty and picked up two 24oz Coronas. Unfortunately we lost one, while exiting the car... at least it made a cool photo.

After a soggy hike through the open grassy fields, we picked a shady spot by a creek to make camp. Then we explored our surroundings.

I enjoyed walking around in the grass barefoot, even if I was standing in swamp-like grass! Squishy.

That concludes my lovely afternoon with Shannee! I can't wait for summer...

Dark room fun

The other day in photo class, my professor gave a lecture about dark room editing and all the cool things you can do with the negatives and enlargers. So of course, I had to try it! I played around with a few negatives by sandwiching two together for an overlapped look. I didn't have enough time to make a really good print, but I thought these turned out pretty neat!
