This project was about anyone you had a relationship with, and to create something that has to do with that person. I picked my boyfriend, Zack, who really loves astronomy, cameras and longboarding. I didn't have any vision or idea of what I was going to do for this project prior to starting it. It all just came together as I went. That big half sphere symbolizing the night sky is made from paper mache. My favorite part of this is the mini telescope I built from cardboard and the photo collage of Zack in his WWII uniform. I had many prints of this photo in different shades, so I just cut and pasted different parts of the photo on top of another photo.

Sind sie sicher?... Text project
The back of the piece.
I am in love with this old photograph, so perfect in so many ways.
The 3Dness of my project.
One of my favorite projects of the semester in my collage class. The only requirement was to involve text in some way, so I collaged the back of the box with pages from an old dictionary and a map. The images are from postcards that I found at the Salvation Army-- such a good find! I wrote "Sind sie sicher" in red nail polish. I chose this German phrase because it has a dual meaning-- Are you sure? and Are you safe?
and I love the duality of both of those.
